What Chemicals do I need to open my pool?

We recommend shocking and adding algicide to your pool to get started. Once you have your filter system up and running we recommend getting your water tested. ( 1 gallon or pound of shock per 10,000 gallons)

How do I winterize my pool?

  1. Vacuum out any debris that may be in pool.

  2. Chemically balance pool water

  3. Add winterizing chemicals

  4. Lower pool water to proper winter level

  5. Winterize skimmer with Aquador and/or Gizmo $ antifreeze if necessary

  6. Plug return. Antifreeze all pool plumbing (mainly inground pools)

  7. Remove Pool Equipment, if possible, store equipment indoors.

  8. Chemically Clean Filter

  9. Cover Pool

    REMEMBER: Throughout winter periodically check amount of water on cover.

My pool is cloudy, but my chlorine is fine. What do I do?

1) Make sure filter is in good shape:

If a cartridge filter, make sure to be chemically cleaning the filter.

If sand, make sure to be backwashing and rinsing as pressure increases. If no pressure is building bring your water in for testing.

If earth, make sure that the earth is being changed and bumped when needed. Also make sure fingers/ grids are being chemically cleaned.

2) If water has not been tested in store we recommend getting a test.

How long should I leave my filter and pump running?

We recommend to run the pump and filter at least 12 hours.
